She has Arrived!

Our soon to be German Shepherd puppy Nova was born yesterday! Her mom and she are both doing well and enjoying time with each other. She will need 8 weeks to grow with her brothers and sisters until she can be placed in a home. That means that Nova will officially become a member of the family around the weekend of April 17th! We are so excited that our new puppy is in this world!

Protect Yourself From.. Valentines Day??

As Luke and I were shopping for some Valentines Day candy, I could not resist taking a picture of this hilarious product placement at Wal-Mart.

At the corner of the largest Valentines Day aisle in the store, next to the Reese's and the York peppermint patties and of course the oversized stuffed animals, a rack of FACE MASKS for your purchasing convenience! Oh how we laughed!

I get that H1N1 and the Flu are things that no one wants to mess with. Colds are quite common during this time of the year and you can pass them along through coughing and sharing among other things... but really?

If the love of your life has H1N1 this valentines day season, may I suggest a delay of kissing.... or if the Flu is a factor in your life, maybe you should be resting and not celebrating this season.

But if you must, no fear... Wal-Mart is here. As you buy the gifts for you loved one, do not worry, you can still enjoy a quick peck while wearing masks that were conveniently located where you were shopping!

Scrapbooking Madness

Last weekend, I got invited to The Woodlands Memory Making Madness day with two of my sweet board moms. MMM is a 12 hour scrapbooking extravaganza. Although I was excited, I had no idea how many other women in The Woodlands were as excited about this event as I was. As I arrived 30 minutes before the opening of the doors, (per the suggestion of Penny) I quickly realized the truth behind her insistence. There were already 30 women with their Creative Memories rolling "suitcases" full of scrapbooking supplies standing in front of me in line.

Now don't get me wrong... I LOVE SCRAPBOOKING. For me it is a form of relaxation and release of creativity mixed with archiving my families memories. For some women, I think it is an obsession. There were papers, stickers, stamps, inks, pens, rub-ons, you name it, these women had hundreds. They even had the Creative Memories lady there to sell you anything you may have forgotten or run out of.

The funniest part of the day was when Luke (being a wonderful husband) had brought a friends forgotten bag to the event. He decided that he wanted to see first-hand what the fuss was all about. If only you could have seen the shock on his face when he walked in a room of 200 women scrapbooking! Priceless... Needless to say, he wasn't there very long.

The day went well. I was not a good marathoner and left by 6pm. I may have lost 3 hours of scrapbooking, but the 5 pages I completed in the other 10 were worth the time. MMM Fall 2010 edition, here I come... I am currently in training for the full 12 hours... bring it on!!
